About
Farm Summer Camp invites children to explore and adventure on the farm. The program takes place on a working family farm that milks cows twice a day at 5 am and 5 pm and uses the cows’ manure in the fields and sells it to other farms and gardeners. During the summer, campers are on a farm that also sells vegetables through a CSA, offers raw milk at a self-serve farm stand, and has milk, eggs, beef, and seasonal fresh produce available.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: On farm loading hours are 12:00–2:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, with manure loading offered April 15 through July 1 on those days or by appointment.
Since 1985, the farm hosting Farm Summer Camp has been providing locally grown produce and raw milk, and the cows have provided high quality milk for the farm. The farm is a grade A raw milk dairy, licensed and inspected by the state of Massachusetts, and the milk is tested each month by the state milk inspector to ensure it meets the requirements for retail raw milk. The farm turns manure into compost for nearby farms and gardens to use as a natural fertilizer, offers compost in bags and bulk with delivery, and sells its signature red compost bags from April through November. The self-serve farm stand connected to the farm is open 24/7, 365 days a year except during times of heavy snow, and it accepts cash, checks, EBT/SNAP, and all major credit cards.
