About

Hingham Maritime Center offers sailing, rowing, and maritime education programs. The program has taught sailing and rowing to over 10,000 participants and offers community access to the waterfront in Hingham Harbor. It is one of Massachusetts’s first community boating organizations.

Formerly named the Lincoln Sailing Club, Hingham Maritime Center was formed in 1970 and officially established in 1971. Its stated mission is “Waterfront Access for All.” Hingham Maritime Center is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is designated by the IRS as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization. The organization lists core values of Safety, Satisfaction, Respect for the Environment, and Respect for the Community. Hingham Maritime Center offers scholarships based on financial need, which are available to eligible sailors and rowers of all ages. The organization states that its continued success relies on the community and invites community members to join in providing boating for all.
