Burbank YMCA Day Camps are American Camp Association (ACA) accredited and meet 300 standards of health, safety, and program quality, and the camp complies with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the local Board of Health. The YMCA notes that it is an equal opportunity employer and service provider and that families can apply for financial assistance, use an EEC voucher or contract slot, or have an outside organization pay for camp, with additional assistance in registering available through the billing contact. The camp offers a Youth Leader program that encourages campers to take on responsibility while gaining independence, and a Leaders-In-Training program that builds leadership and employment skills for teens interested in becoming counselors. Younger campers ages 5–7 have specialized two-week sessions in cooking, creative arts, theatre/drama, and messy exploration on site, while older campers ages 8 and up attend weekly trips to a variety of destinations around New England, and transportation is included in the weekly rate for Camp Wakanda. Registration is open for Burbank YMCA and Charles River YMCA Day Camps, with an Early Bird rate available for those who register by the end of January, and all tracks take part in swimming and outdoor play daily, with a bi-weekly drama component in the Creative Arts track and a specialty VR program offered during the regular camp day.
