About
Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires – Camp Russell offers tubing, kayaking, swimming, arts and crafts, fishing, gardening, hiking, and both competitive and non-competitive games, along with special events and field trips. Day Camp groups follow an itinerary that includes swim time, nature adventures, arts and crafts, and group games, and Sports Camp allows campers to pick between different sport activities and games throughout the day. On any given week, 250–380 campers attend, and campers are organized into age-appropriate groups with a 2:10 staff ratio.

• Schedule: Weekly sessions from June through August, with eight camp weeks running June 29–August 21, 2026
• Price: 2026 Weekly Rates: Day & Sports Camp (K–8th grade, must have completed Kindergarten) $215 per week; LIT Program (9th–10th grade) $120 per week; optional Before & After Camp Care $50 per week added to each camp week; a current Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires Membership ($20 + a $3 service fee) is required; no daily rate available
Camp Russell is the summer home of the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires and includes a dining hall, infirmary, recreation hall, directors’ cabins, camper cabins, a boathouse, storage cabin, pool house, pavilion, and a handicap accessible in-ground wading pool. The grounds include a playground area, soccer and ball fields, an outdoor basketball court, a beach-entry pool, and a full waterfront area for swimming and boating. A camp store operates on a cash-only basis for extra snacks and drinks.
Campers must bring cash if they plan to use the camp store. Required health documentation includes a current physical within 18 months (actual copies of the physical are required; doctor-signed letters are not accepted), immunization records that meet Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements, and a current Club membership, all due at least two weeks before the child’s first day. Parent pick-up and drop-off at Camp Russell is no earlier than 8:30am and no later than 3:30pm, and drop-off at the Boys & Girls Club site is no earlier than 8am and pick-up is no later than 4pm, with extended care available from 7:30am to 5:30pm for those registered.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires notes “125 Years of Impact” and lists Joseph McGovern as Chief Executive Officer. The organization’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for youth as participating members of a richly diverse society, with emphasis on being socially and economically inclusive and helping youth to help themselves to realize their potential for growth, development, and leadership. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the Local Board of Health. The Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires also invites the community to a Chili & Chowder Fest at Camp Russell to kick off summer.
