Erdman Preschool includes hands-on activities such as painting, cooking, building, singing, cleaning, and sharing and playing with others. Children actively connect with nature, pick apples, make applesauce, chop and cut vegetables for soup, investigate snow and ice, sled on a small hill, visit a farm, hatch butterflies, incubate chicken eggs, and explore the beach and its ecosystem. The program includes extended day programs, enrichment programs, and a summer program, and offers 2, 3, and 4-day classes for Young Threes, Threes, Older Threes, Fours, and Fives.

Seasonal themes include apples, leaves, harvesting cranberries, pumpkins, and Halloween in the fall, learning to care for animals and people needing extra help during the cold months, and spring activities such as visiting a farm, hatching butterflies, incubating chicken eggs, and exploring the beach and its ecosystem.
