Founded in 1889, The Wheeler School is an independent day school for children from Nursery through Grade Twelve. Central to the School’s philosophy is the assumption that students and teachers can and should contribute to and draw from the energy and vitality of the community. Wheeler Summer is directed by a nurse (RN) team for the summer, and each day a Health Supervisor is on staff. All camp staff become CPR and first aid certified, and the summer team spends a week training for the summer. The Wheeler summer team includes a mix of Wheeler faculty, young adults, and local students. Wheeler Summer partners with PODS Swimming for its aquatics program. This camp complies with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430.000) and is licensed by the Town of Seekonk Board of Health. Wheeler Summer works closely with the local Board of Health.
