Nike Swim Camp at Mount Holyoke College offers stroke technique development and endurance training with instruction in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Campers take part in small group and individual stroke analysis and instruction, and the camp also includes fun evening social activities. An Extra Night Starts & Turns Clinic is available to extend the camp to five days.
• Ages: 10–18 years old
• Schedule: Two sessions run June 28–July 1, 2026 and July 5–8, 2026, with an optional Extra Night Starts & Turns Clinic July 8–9, 2026; the camp includes an extended day option with activities scheduled from Sunday through Wednesday.
• Price: Complete Stroke Technique Overnight $791 and Extended Day $691, plus an optional Extra Night Starts & Turns Clinic for $150; team discounts and additional fees are noted, and pricing is subject to change based on availability.
All meals are provided for overnight campers, and lunch and dinner are provided for extended day campers. Parents have the right to review the camp’s background check, health care, discipline policies, and grievance procedures upon request.
Camp Director Dave Allen is the head coach of the Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving program, Aquatics Director, and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics. He is an American Red Cross certified instructor in water safety, lifeguarding, CPR, and community first aid, and holds a Master of Science in exercise science–human performance and a Bachelor of Science in physical education. Dave Allen enters his 27th season as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving program, and 2026 will be the 4th annual Nike Swim Camp at Mount Holyoke College. Under his leadership, over 200 college and pool records have been set, several athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, and swimmer Cathleen Pruden became a three-time NCAA National All-American, an eight-time NEWMAC Champion, and the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year in 2015 and 2016. His 2007–08 and 2015–16 squads posted the top grade point average in the nation among women’s teams competing at the NCAA Division III level. Dave Allen has served as a Director, Assistant Director, and Associate Head Coach for 35 years with United States Sports Camps Ltd. and was involved in the camp from 1988 until 2022.
The camp is described as a top summer training option for competitive and recreational swimmers in the Northeast and is designed for swimmers of all skill levels, with individualized instruction to improve all four competitive strokes and a low camper-to-staff ratio. Every camper receives a Nike camp T-shirt and Nike swim cap and is eligible to receive merit-based prizes during camp. The camp is open to any and all entrants, with a recommendation that campers have competitive swimming experience and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes. Team discounts are available when five or more campers register together, with the discount refunded after all team members have successfully registered. The camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and be licensed by the local board of health (LBOH).
