About

Rosemarie Morelli Art Studio School offers painting, drawing, illustrating, group sketch study, and projects such as drawing and painting portraits, anatomy of people and animals, object surfaces and textures, and landscape elements. Classes use a relaxed-structured format where students work at their own speed on a main project of their choosing, including landscapes, seascapes, still life, and fantasy characters. Students can work in oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints; pastels; pen and ink; color pencil; charcoal; conte crayons; and graphite, using photo references and art books for inspiration, and they may bring iPads or phones for their own photos and research, with creating art via AI-generated images not allowed.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes run Monday–Friday, 1–4 pm, in 5-day weekly sessions or per diem from June 23–August 22.
• Price: $275/5-day week or $60.00/day, with a minimum of 2 days per any given week.

ROSEMARIE MORELLI Art Studio School states that it is dedicated to teaching the techniques for good drawing and painting in a supportive and fun studio, with a focus on providing children and teens with quality academic art training in painting and drawing that is not offered in the public schools to round out and supplement high school AP and college programs. Daily 30-minute group sketch study is included, with an emphasis on learning fundamentals for seeing and rendering the 3D form, shape correction, color mixing, and good composition design.

Rosemarie Morelli is a professional fine art painter and instructor dedicated full-time to teaching children, teens, and adults how to paint and draw well, with an emphasis on “enjoying the learning process!” She has a BS in Marketing, attended art schools for graphic design, and trained under Nadia Mahfuz for 7 years in the disciplines of the 19th century French Academy, as well as through workshops and private mentoring with Robert Douglas Hunter, Sergio Roffo, Joseph McGurl, Thomas Dunlay, David Curtis, New York portrait artist Lois Wooley, and genre painter Hongnian Zhang. Her 40-year professional art career includes product and editorial illustration, environmental/graphic design and art direction for corporate clients, project management and art consulting for a Children’s Hospital art installation budget, commercial and residential mural work, and being a national juried award-winning and exhibiting artist. Since 2010, she has been dedicated to passing on her teaching methods and knowledge of traditional realism and plein air impressionism to students of all levels.

Rosemarie is an active Elected Artist of the American Artists Professional League in New York, a juried artist member of Oil Painters of America and Cape Cod Art Center, and a member of Dedham Art Association and Norwood Art Association. Her exhibitions and awards include multiple first-place and honorable mention awards in Dedham Art Association and Duxbury Art Association shows, juried exhibits at Cape Cod Art Center, Marina Bay Art Show, and Norwood Art Association events, as well as participation in the American Artists Professional League 2023 Summer Members Show and Online Auction at the Salmagundi Club in New York. One parent, Nina Barros, wrote to enroll her 12-year-old daughter Johanna for multiple days of classes in a single week.
