About
La Vida Adventure Camp includes activities such as a high ropes course, rock climbing and indoor climbing, kayaking and canoeing, mountain biking, swimming, hiking, backpacking, camping, and nature exploration. Campers take part in paddling, map and compass skills, team building and team challenges, group challenges, games, creative play, and custom challenge course programs. Programs include Adventurers, Pathfinders, Explorers, Trailblazers, and the Adirondack Leadership Program.

La Vida Adventure Camp runs weekly Adventurers, Pathfinders, and Explorers day camp sessions Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm, with 2026 day camp weeks offered from June 15–18 (no camp Friday, June 19), June 22–26, June 29–July 3, July 6–10, July 13–17, July 20–24, July 27–31, and August 3–7. Trailblazers includes 3 nights at La Vida Adirondack Base Camp in New York with daily excursions, and travel from the North Shore to the Adirondacks is provided for Trailblazers. Travel to and from the Adirondacks is not included for the Adirondack Leadership Program.
Adventurers is the newest program and is designed specifically for first-time campers, introducing younger campers to outdoor adventure with extra support, a high staff-to-camper ratio, and a nurturing environment. Pathfinders is described as La Vida’s core outdoor camp, and no two weeks are alike. Explorers culminates in an overnight camping experience to end the week. Trailblazers is designed for teens ready for a challenge and emphasizes independence, leadership, and teamwork. The Adirondack Leadership Program is described as La Vida’s capstone leadership experience for teens and focuses on exploring questions of purpose, values, and faith through reflection, community, and challenge.
Adventure Camp is a summer program of the La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership at Gordon College. La Vida offers a broad range of outdoor programs for youth, families, and a wide variety of groups. The program’s mission is to catalyze character formation, cultivate community, and develop servant-leadership skills in individuals, groups, and organizations through outdoor experiential education. Experiential learning environments are described as fostering character and leadership development to prepare participants to contribute to the greater good in their community and the world. La Vida is described as transforming participants of all ages through outdoor experiences that catalyze their emotional, physical, and spiritual health, and La Vida participants are described as returning to their home as agents of change. The guiding lessons of the La Vida experience are described as combating the overwhelming side-effects of today’s technological wilderness.
La Vida Adventure Camp is celebrating over 25 years of summer adventures. Adventurers, Pathfinders, and Explorers programs are described as voted Best on the North Shore, and La Vida’s Adventure Camp is described as award-winning and voted best kids outdoor program on the North Shore.
Staff at La Vida Adventure Camp are described as highly trained and modeling exceptional leadership. Staff are trained to belay at the ropes course and rock gym and are trained in outdoor skills such as map and compass, camping, and mountain biking. Rock Gym is described as an indoor climbing facility on the North Shore. La Vida Adirondack Base Camp in New York offers basic campsites, and La Vida has partnered with Hipcamp to provide private campsites at the La Vida Base Camp in New York.
