About
Acton School of Ballet offers classical ballet training for children and youth. The program also includes a Beginning Ballet for Teens and Adults class that focuses on introductory ballet technique. Classes take place at the Acton School of Ballet studio.
• Ages: 3–19 years old
• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday 3:00–7:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM–12:00 PM; registration for the Beginning Ballet for Teens and Adults class is for the full Fall term
The Lower School program is designed for students ages 3 through 3rd grade with little or no experience. Students progress through yearly syllabus programs that train classical ballet technique through a fun, creative movement, and technical approach. The Beginning Ballet for Teens and Adults class is open to ages 11 and up. Summer program offerings are available for ages 3.5 and up.
Acton School of Ballet’s leadership team includes Lindsay Moncrieff, Artistic Director, and Susan Moncrieff, Administrator. The school’s stated goal is to provide the highest level of classical ballet training to the community in a supportive, educational, and collaborative setting through stellar faculty and a focused approach to training. The mission also states that the school strives to foster creativity, inspire confidence, and encourage students to be persistent inside and outside of the studio.
A current parent describes ASB as “a haven of learning and love where each student celebrates the pure joy of dance” and “a supportive family that ushers students through their development as dancers in a caring noncompetitive environment.” 2024 ASB graduate Nahia Sáenz de Viguera Washa notes the “individualized training students receive in addition to the personal teacher-student connections” and shares that she “always felt like ASB was my second home, my second family - a place where I was truly supported and loved.”
