Behn Basketball Camp was founded in 1994 by Massachusetts basketball player Sarah Behn. The camp describes its philosophy as instilling confidence in young players by teaching basketball fundamentals, which in turn raises their level of play and makes the game more fun to play. One parent testimonial states, “Thomas is always talking about things he learned in Behn camp. We sign up for your camps first and plan the rest of our summer around them.”

Sarah Behn’s background includes being an All-America selection in basketball and soccer at Foxboro High School, setting the Massachusetts state scoring record in 1989 with 2,562 career points, and remaining in the top ten scorers in state history for boys and girls. She was named the Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior, was the first Boston College woman to surpass 2,000 career points, set a Big East freshman scoring record with 428 points, and was the league’s Rookie of the Year. She was the first Boston College player to earn All-America honors as a freshman, is the only four-time All-America basketball player in Boston College history, and as a senior became the Big East all-time leading scorer in women’s basketball, men or women, with 2,523 career points. She was inducted into the Boston College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, had her jersey retired in 2003 as the only female athlete at Boston College with a retired jersey, and has been named one of the top ten athletes in Boston College history by Sports Illustrated. After college, she played professional basketball in Ettlebruck, Luxembourg, where she was the leading scorer in central Europe with 35 points per game. In addition to running the camps, she has been a Division III and Division II college coach and the varsity coach at Foxboro High School, and she is currently the head women’s basketball coach at Brown University.

The leadership team includes Sarah Behn as vice president and Chris Warnat as director of operations. Behn Basketball Camp states that it is in full compliance with regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, is licensed by local Boards of Health, and complies with 105 CMR 430.000. Parents and guardians may review health care, discipline, and background check policies and grievance procedures upon request.

Pre-registration is not complete until campers submit a copy of their most recent physical exam and immunization records to the camp office with the application or as soon as possible afterward in order to participate. The physical exam must have taken place within the last two years, and each camper must submit an updated copy of their most recent physical and immunization records regardless of previous attendance at the camp. The camp notes that after a record number of sell-outs in 2025, it is returning with a packed summer calendar in 2026 and refers to its upcoming season as its 32nd season.
