Camp Shoresh

Camp Shoresh is a Jewish day camp with an overnight feel, where the fun-loving approach to Jewish education comes alive during the summer months. The program includes youth and teen programming with divisions for elementary-aged children, middle schoolers, and older teens. Camp Shoresh also offers adult programming described as a Jewish experience for mind, body, and soul, and states that it gives children of all ages and interests a place to thrive.

Shoresh states that its mission is “Making Judaism flourish for families across Maryland, Virginia and beyond,” and explains that its summer camp, year-round programming, and special events for children, teens, and adults plant the seeds of a meaningful Jewish identity. Shoresh Inc. is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. One testimonial describes an “incredible and awesome Yom Tov,” mentioning a daughter enjoying dancing with her father on Simchat Torah, along with positive comments about the food, the campground, and the country air. Another testimonial calls Shoresh “a lifeline” and describes it as “the past, the present, and the future for pride, knowledge, and love of our Jewishness,” and says that without Shoresh, the family would not have its roots “fastened as tightly” to who they are.
