The program takes place during the summer and includes both general sailing experience and specific racing-focused options such as Opti Learn to Race and 420 Race Teams.
• Ages: 8–17 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp registration opens January 1, with the first day of camp on June 23; in summer 2026, Week 1 runs June 22–26 for Sailing experience (ages 8–17), and Opti Learn to Race and 420 Race Teams run June 22–August 7; the 2025 season finishes on Saturday, August 16; early bird pricing ends 01/31/25
The Baltimore County Sailing Center is a nonprofit community sailing center and a 501(c)3 organization that is driven largely by volunteers and specializes in summer camp programs, junior sailing, and racing. It offers partnership programs so community members who may not have opportunity or access to the water can have a full Chesapeake Bay experience, and it provides COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP programs to the community. The camp offers bus transportation across Baltimore County and Baltimore City, with Camp Bus Times information available through a dedicated link, and has water refill stations in multiple locations in camp.
Camp registration questions are handled by registrar Ellen at [email protected], and administration questions can be sent to [email protected]. Campers arriving or leaving by car are dropped off inside the park rather than in the roadway, with adults walking campers to the front gate where the management team greets them, and at the end of the day adults go to the main gate and sign campers out. Families are asked to send enough food and snacks for a very busy day, provide a reusable water bottle since the camp does not use disposable cups but has plenty of water and refill stations, apply sunscreen before camp, and send sunscreen so staff can remind campers to reapply.
