Kids & Families Programs at The Maryland Zoo

Kids & Families Programs at The Maryland Zoo take place at an outdoor zoo venue where families can have personal encounters with animals. During these programs, participants are required to follow zoo guidelines such as not feeding the animals, supervising children at all times, staying on marked pathways, and respecting all barriers. Families are also asked to keep shoes and shirts on at all times, place trash and recyclables in proper receptacles, and handle lost and found items through the Wild Things Gift Shop.

The Zoo’s mission is to engage people in the wonders of the living world through personal encounters with animals, fostering empathy and lifelong support for conservation of wildlife and wild places. The Maryland Zoo holds AZA Accreditation. The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is generously supported by the City of Baltimore Cultural Spaces Capital Support Grants Program from the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. Pets are not permitted in these programs, except for service animals as defined by the ADA under proper supervision, and items such as bicycles, scooters, balloons, skateboards, skates, hoverboards, Frisbees, squirt guns, balls, whistles, radios, drones, glass containers, tobacco or vaping products, alcohol, and weapons of any kind are not permitted.
