Theatreworks Live

Theatreworks Live is a non-profit theatre program that focuses on youth involvement in theatre. The program offers instruction and performances that involve technical, artistic, instructive, and administrative skills for young participants. It provides a creative and supportive environment for young people from diverse backgrounds to use their imaginations and increase their awareness of their surroundings.

Theatreworks Live has a history of over three decades of working with youth through theatre. Its mission is to use theatre as a medium to cultivate confidence, creativity, and character in youth ages 5–18, and to promote the well-being of children and youth in the home, school, and community. The program also focuses on fostering understanding and teamwork among peers.

Theatreworks Live, Inc. is led by Executive Director (President) Cathy Koncurat, who holds a BA in Music Education, has over 20 years of teaching experience in music and early childhood, and has 8 years of experience as a Theatreworks Live instructor. Executive Director (Vice President/Treasurer) Mark Koncurat holds a BS in Information Technology, an MBA, and works as an IT Director. The board includes Philip Beanblossom, Hope Cassidy-Stewart, Julie Fiol, Mike Fiol, Katie Izzo, Abigail Koncurat, Wayne Perry, Tim Rhudy, Karisa Sikora, Sabrina Thornton, Patti Wade, Greg Watt, Sarah Watt, Beverly Whaley, Josh Weeks, Katie Weeks, and Becci Wendler. Theatreworks Live maintains an advisory board for future planning and evaluations, and members of this advisory board have been selected for their experience in musical theatre, education, youth leadership, and business administration.
