Theatreworks Live

Theatreworks Live offers theatre instruction and performances for children and teens. Participants take part in theatre activities that include both learning and performing on stage.

Theatreworks Live is an educational and charitable program that promotes the well-being of children and youth in the home, school, and community. The organization is celebrating its 35th Anniversary Season and operates as a non-profit. Its mission states that it uses theatre as a medium to cultivate confidence, creativity, and character in youth ages 5–18 and to inspire and empower youth from all walks of life through theatre. The program maintains an advisory board for future planning and evaluations, with members selected for their experience in musical theatre, education, youth leadership, and business administration. It offers a creative and supportive environment for young people from diverse backgrounds and includes instruction and performances that develop technical, artistic, instructive, and administrative skills, encourage students to tap into their imaginations and increase awareness of their surroundings, and foster understanding and teamwork among peers.

The leadership team includes Executive Director (President) Cathy Koncurat and Executive Director (Vice President/Treasurer) Mark Koncurat. Staff and board members bring backgrounds in music education, early childhood education, K–12 art education, classroom teaching, ballet and tap instruction, project management, information technology, sales and management, legal studies, and theatre support roles such as costuming, makeup, set building, theatre tech, and front-of-house work.
