• Ages: 4–14 years old

Antietam Recreation Summer Day Camp is part of a family owned and operated business that has been in operation since 1977. Antietam Recreation opened its doors as a summer day camp in 1977, began group picnic programs in 1979, and added a school field trips program in 1992. A junior camp for 5 and 6 year olds was started in 2009, and the summer camp expanded to include two weeks of Adventure camp for age 14 in 2012. The camp is led by founders Bob Rotz and Mary Overington, who both completed graduate work at the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Master Degree and Master Equivalency in Physical Education and Recreation. Mary taught health and physical education at East Jr. High School from 1971 until 1981 and played for the Mid East USA Field Hockey Team for a number of years, and Bob taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in the Waynesboro School District and retired from teaching in 1985. School and home school groups use the facility from May through August, and families and bus groups attend dinner shows such as Summer Wild West shows, Cowboy Christmas dinner shows, The Christmas Experience holiday show, a Valentines Show, and Century of Song & God & Country Shows.
