Clara Barton Center for Children

Clara Barton Center for Children offers a play-based curriculum where children explore, experiment, and discover the world around them. The program uses an MSDE approved curriculum and may create lessons around children’s lives, such as a new puppy, parents’ professions, or recent news. The environment is described as warm, friendly, and supportive, with a language-rich and socially nurturing setting.

• Ages: 2–5 years old

Since 1975, Clara Barton Center for Children has provided educational and childcare programs for children ages 2 to 5. The staff are described as caring and highly trained, and the teachers are experienced and dedicated. The program is recognized annually by the Maryland EXCELS program with its highest rating and offers flexible daily hours. The mission of Clara Barton Center for Children is to offer a play-based MSDE approved curriculum with goals to nurture self-esteem, foster social, cognitive, and physical development, and lay the groundwork for a life-long love of learning.
