Dominique Dawes Academy offers kids gymnastics, recreational gymnastics, junior gymnastics, competitive gymnastics, tumbling, ninja and ninja fitness classes, as well as preschool and homeschool classes. The program also offers summer camps, seasonal camps, school closure camps, Kids' Night Out events, birthday parties, open gym, and complimentary open gym. Birthday party packages use the facility for active playtime and include decorations, favors, balloons, and a special gift for the birthday child.

Dominique Dawes Academy states that its mission is to empower children and help parents recognize the value of being in an empowering and positive environment. The program offers month-to-month enrollment, a flexible make-up policy, and a dedicated member portal for each location. It offers classes for ages 9 months and up and describes its staff as highly trained, nurturing, inclusive, and inviting, with positive, uplifting coaching. The academy emphasizes developing happy, active, strong kids, where every child’s abilities are celebrated, with no pressure and a focus on progress and fun. It states that gymnastics and ninja for kids at the academy inspire confidence and character, with expertly guided, progressive classes. The program focuses on building a culture of kindness and respect, prioritizing the mental and physical health and well-being of every child above scores and rankings, and carefully managing the number of hours children train while emphasizing a well-rounded life outside of gymnastics.

Dominique Dawes is the founder and brand ambassador of Dominique Dawes Academy. She is a three-time Olympic gymnast (Barcelona ’92, Atlanta ’96, Sydney ’00), a gold medal Olympic gymnast, and a member of the “Magnificent Seven,” the first American team to win gold in women’s gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics. She is a wife and mother of four young children. Dominique opened her first academy in July 2020, followed by a second location in April 2023, and her third location in Columbia in 2024, with three more locations planned to open in late 2025.

Dominique Dawes has served as a national ambassador for numerous nonprofits and corporations. She was the first national spokesperson for the Girl Scouts of the USA’s “Uniquely Me! The Girl Scout/Dove Self Esteem Program,” continues to work with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and is a newly elected board member of VetSports, a veteran-owned nonprofit that serves to help veterans through sports. Her credentials and recognition include induction into the USA Olympic Hall of Fame in 2008, being a limited partner in the Atlanta Falcons, and serving as co-chair of the President’s Council for Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition under the Obama administration alongside Drew Brees. She served as an executive producer, alongside LeBron James and Maverick Carter, of the Peacock docuseries “Golden,” which was nominated for a Sports Emmy, and was featured in E!’s documentary “Black Pop.” In fall 2023, she was inducted into the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame. She holds a degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and was inducted into the university’s Hall of Fame in 2022. On June 22, 2024, her hometown of Silver Spring, Maryland, honored her career and legacy with a life-size statue.
