KidsCo Before & After School Care and Summer Camp is part of KidsCo, Inc., which was incorporated in 1998 and began as one summer camp program that same year. In 2000, KidsCo expanded into the before and after school market with one program and later grew to 19 elementary school before and after school programs in Montgomery County. KidsCo describes itself as making a difference in over 1000 families’ lives each year and as the Kids’ Company. The organization’s mission states that its goal is to provide a safe and comfortable place where children can explore their creativity and make choices, build relationships with KidsCo team members, and experience a sense of family and community, with a primary goal of creating a program that fits the needs and desires of the children who participate. KidsCo’s leadership includes founder Jay Gerson, who remains active in the day-to-day happenings of all KidsCo programs, and Maddie Wilson, who is the Director of the Damascus ES center, along with a core management team and program Directors described as large, qualified, and exceptional. Several KidsCo centers connected to this program are described as Maryland Accredited, including Brown Station ES, Capt. James Daly ES, Damascus ES, Fallsmead ES, Flower Hill ES, Little Bennett ES, Pine Crest ES, Sequoyah ES, Sligo Creek ES/Silver Spring International Middle School, Strawberry Knoll ES, and Waters Landing ES.
