There have been only two ownership entities since 1965, and both were husband and wife teams. The current owners, Stasia and Scott Fisher, have welcomed children from the ages of 2 years to entering Grade 5 since 2002.
The program’s stated mission is to specialize in the development of children with a focus on skill building through fun and interactive learning, recognizing that each child is unique and learns in a different way. The program describes its role as helping children discover independence and states its approach as “Love the Child, Teach the Child, Prepare the Child for the rigors of kindergarten and beyond while at the same time and most importantly, keep them Happy and Safe!” It also states, “Our teachers LOVE TO TEACH and TEACH TO LOVE!”
All senior staff have obtained their 90-hour childcare certificates or more in Child Growth and Development, earn 12 CEU credits a year in childcare, and hold current CPR and First Aid certifications. All Teacher Assistants have several certificates in childcare, hold CPR and First Aid certifications, and have taken the state-mandated Child Care Aide training. All staff, substitutes, and volunteers have state and federal criminal background checks.
