Master Mind Daycare offers a range of activities that include Reading, Writing and Literacy Skills, Math, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math as part of a S.T.E.A.M. focus. Children at the program also take part in Mindfulness, Yoga, Meditation, Dramatic Play, Gardening, Public Speaking, and an engaging activity-focused summer camp program. The daycare program includes many different learning and play-based activities which prepare children for Kindergarten and beyond.
Master Mind Daycare was founded by April Ryans as an early childhood development initiative to enrich the lives of young children in the Harford County, Maryland area and to bring out the hidden potential and talent of children. The program’s curriculum is based on 40 years of teaching experience and is described as relevant for future learning. The program was created to bring the inner mastermind out of children, with a focus on positive encouragement and creating interesting ways of garnering a young child’s attention span. Children are treated as individuals with their own learning capabilities, supported at their own speed with attention to their unique skill set, in a creative, collaborative setting where they interact with peers and bring individual skills to the table. The daycare’s goal is to teach children to think differently, enjoy learning, and open their minds to become more intuitive about their surroundings, while they learn positive socialization skills and how to effectively and efficiently solve problems. Enrichment skills at Master Mind Daycare are described as learning tools that instill character and can be used inside and outside the classroom, and the program caters to families in Darlington, Benson, and Harford County.
Master Mind Daycare’s mission is to empower the minds of young children so that they can grow and develop positively while exploring the world around them. This exploration is encouraged through lessons taught in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.), with curriculum geared towards each particular age group so that children can learn at their own pace. Master Mind Daycare was founded by April Ryans, a resident of the Harford County, Maryland area. April received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, then earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Psychology from Capella University. Before founding Master Mind, April worked as a Project Manager for 15 years.
One parent, Tom C., shared that, “Our child has become more communicative and open to interaction. He regularly looks forward to trying new things and adventures after joining Master Mind. I’ve seen positive changes in our son ever since he enrolled here.”
