Young Adult Deaf Camp is especially designed for developmentally-delayed Deaf adults ages 18 and up and includes fun field trips and camping activities in a communication-rich ASL environment. Deaf Camps, Inc. has been providing camp experiences for deaf children in an American Sign Language environment for over 20 years and was founded by Reverend (now Bishop) Peggy Johnson. The organization is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit with a mission to provide fun, safe, communication-rich camps that promote the physical, spiritual, and social development of Deaf and hard of hearing children and children learning American Sign Language. Deaf Camps, Inc. is an inclusive organization that does not discriminate based on race, culture, language, communication method, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or hearing status in any of its programs or activities. Deaf Camps, Inc. thanks sponsors from multiple years, including 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Deaf and ASL Camps. Returning campers say, “Deaf Camp is the best week of their summer!” DCI is now offering custom, handmade dolls with options to add cochlear implants and hearing aids, and one hundred percent of the sale after costs goes toward Deaf Camps, Inc.
