Eco Adventures opened in 2013 and offers hands-on environmental education to people of all ages. The facility is described as a one-of-a-kind space that includes a simulated rainforest full of animal exhibits and a glowing volcano, an “Underwater Pier” discovery room, an outside sluice and fossil dig, and an outside field and classroom called Pixie Hollow that neighbors the Severn Run Wildlife Area. Eco Adventures houses over 100 native and exotic animals on display and as animal ambassadors, and provides private Feeding Frenzies tours where visitors can interact with animals, feed them, and learn about their stories and adaptations. A 360 tour of the facility is available online, and gift certificates are available that can be shipped in a jewelry bag with a small toy animal and brochures for an extra shipping and handling fee or sent by regular mail at no charge, and these gift certificates expire one and a half years from purchase.
