• Ages: 0–11 years old
Creative Children's Center uses a research-proven curriculum that is MSDE-approved and evaluated, and the curriculum meets Kindergarten Readiness Assessment goals. The program is MSDE Accredited and participates in Maryland Excels. Lead Teachers are degreed and credentialed, are required to remain current with ongoing training hours in the Early Childhood Education field, and are viewed as educational professionals who must maintain qualifications and credentialing each year. Lead Teachers are paid higher and earn more benefits than at other Early Childhood Education centers, and the center maintains a 20% or lower staff turnover while employing educated, trained, and experienced staff. The program uses developmentally appropriate lessons and activities, promotes play in a fun learning environment, and incorporates cutting edge technology with interactive boards.
The center’s mission is “Creating future leaders of our society by providing exceptional childcare and educational opportunities for children of all abilities and diverse backgrounds.” Creative Children’s Center is locally owned and operated, with two locations, CCC Myersville and CCC Jefferson, and it has been serving the community from Mount Zion Methodist Church for the last 25 years. Creative started as an in-home daycare at Mrs. Linda Bidle’s house in Myersville, Maryland in 1993. The owners and many of the center’s staff are Middletown and Myersville natives, and the center encourages families to volunteer and join the Parent Advisory Board to continue to provide quality education and care to the children in the community.
The program offers enhanced security systems with keyless entry and a live streaming camera service in classrooms, and it uses interactive boards as part of its technology. Breakfast and snacks are provided and served family-style. Camp Creative is a summer program that promotes life skills. The center states a willingness to make any necessary accommodations to welcome all children, families, and staff regardless of their primary language.
Brett, the president of Creative Children’s Center, has an MBA. One parent, Leveque, reports that after four months at Creative Children’s Center, their 2-year-old daughter began building a strong vocabulary and was able to sing, paint, and scribble, and that her social skills greatly improved. In the same testimonial, the parent notes that Brett re-evaluates all aspects of the center on a daily basis, garners new ideas and ways to improve the center, takes communication with parents seriously with daily briefings in emails and other channels, and that accounting is clear and spotless. The parent also describes the place as thoroughly clean and home-like, with an atmosphere they find conducive for both children and parents, and states that they highly recommend Creative Children’s Center for any parent who has a dream for their child.
