The Boys and Girls Club of North Beach, also known as Bayside Boys and Girls Club, is described as an after-school program that runs for the duration of the school year and serves a variety of ages ranging from elementary schoolers to high schoolers. BGCSM at Calvert Elementary is an after-school program for Calvert Elementary students that is free of charge. The organization states that its goals include developing members socially, academically, and physically to make them better students and members of society, and that its mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The Boys and Girls Club of Lexington Park is honored to serve the Lexington Park community. The leadership team includes Prendi V. Garcia. The program follows a strategy called “Formula for Impact,” adopted from its National Headquarters, which serves as a roadmap for Clubs to help ensure that members achieve the priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. Through sports, children learn teamwork, leadership, and responsibility, experience the rewards of hard work, develop a love for sports and exercise, and learn the benefits of friendly competition. Through the arts, young people gain confidence, self-esteem, and leadership abilities, understand that problems may have multiple solutions, and are able to put their ideas, thoughts, and feelings into concrete and abstract forms.
