Youth Programs at Lower Shore Family YMCA take place at a branch that includes a fitness center, three gymnasiums, an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor filtered pond, a zip line, and a Stay & Play area. The branch also offers before and after school programs as part of its amenities. Youth Programs at Lower Shore Family YMCA are part of a YMCA association that offers over 300 free land and water group exercise classes.

The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization. People from all backgrounds and walks of life come together at the YMCA to volunteer and help strengthen their community. Membership at this YMCA includes privileges at all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations, including Elkton, Chestertown, Centreville, Denton, Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, Salisbury, Pocomoke City, and Chincoteague Island. Y membership allows access to all Ys in the State of Maryland and participating Ys throughout the country. Stay & Play service is available for children six weeks to ten years old for up to two hours per day, with a parent required to remain on-site. The Y turns no one away due to the inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants. All branches of the YMCA of the Chesapeake are closed all day on New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, and all branches have modified hours for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
