The Del-Mar-Va Council was established in 1917, and Scouting America was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The Del-Mar-Va Council provides Scouting opportunities throughout the Delmarva Peninsula, serving over 200 units and 2,000 volunteers who are delivering the promise of Scouting to over 3,600 young men and women, and serves over 3,600 families throughout the peninsula. Scouting in this council works through neighborhoods, volunteer organizations, and faith-based organizations to help young people appreciate and respond to the needs of others.
