YMCA of the Chesapeake Youth Programs include swim lessons, day camp, and youth sports. The program is offered through the YMCA of the Chesapeake and is part of a larger membership community.
The YMCA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with over 35,000 members, and it provides programs and services to more than 50,000 people every year. People from many different backgrounds volunteer with the YMCA of the Chesapeake Youth Programs and other YMCA activities to help strengthen their community. Membership includes privileges at all YMCA of the Chesapeake locations, including Elkton, Chestertown, Centreville, Denton, Easton, St. Michaels, Cambridge, Salisbury, Pocomoke City, and Chincoteague Island. Members have access to over 300 free land and water group exercise classes. The YMCA also offers a Stay & Play service for children six weeks to ten years old, available for up to two hours per day, with a parent required to remain on-site. The Y turns no one away due to inability to pay and provides over $2,000,000 in financial assistance to over 20,000 participants.
