Worcester County Recreation & Parks Youth Programs include activities such as Active Start, Archery Tag League, various clinics, Coast Fall Soccer League, Berlin Walk Club, Survivor Coast, SUP Yoga, 4v4 Sand Volleyball League, Drop-In Field Hockey, Drop-In Outdoor Soccer, and the MD Supreme League. Many of these youth programs take place at the Recreation Center and use the track, which is open for walking and jogging during hours of operation when not closed for special events or scheduled recreation programming.
• Schedule: Programs are offered during Recreation Center hours, which are Monday–Thursday 6:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
The mission of Worcester County Recreation & Parks is to provide a variety of quality recreational programs, pristine parks, and facilities to enrich the lives of citizens. The department offers special events, programs, and fitness opportunities for youth and adults of all ages, and its thirteen parks are open to explore and enjoy all year long. The department reserves the right to cancel a program or division that does not meet certain requirements, and if staff cancel an entire program, all monies are refunded in the form of a county check issued to the payer.
For all Worcester County Recreation & Parks youth programs, concussion awareness information is handed out to staff members, youth participants, parents or guardians, and volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches and parents or guardians receive a Concussion Training Acknowledgement Form that must be signed in order to coach or for a child to participate in a youth sports program. Staff are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to all participants, and participants with special needs are asked to give advance notification so accommodations can be planned.
