About
Greater Baltimore Tennis Patrons Association (BTP) offers tennis, pickleball, VolTBall, private lessons, junior indoor league team tennis, and tennis and pickleball clinics, along with cardio fit, social play, competitive play, instructional programs, team tennis programs, and competitive leagues. The program also offers family tennis classes, family tennis camps, family rally night, family tennis bootcamp, family pickleball (indoors and outdoors), family team play that includes tennis, pickleball, and VolTBall, family tournaments, Free Try-Its, and family play offs. BTP also runs beginner and advanced in-school, after-school, and out-of-school tennis instructional and play programs, as well as academic support, life-skill building, nutrition education, and scholarship programs.

The Greater Baltimore Tennis Patrons Association, Inc. (BTP) is a local 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit Maryland corporation founded in 1975 and has been active for 50+ years. BTP conducts programs year-round for youth, adults, and seniors, and its programs are available for ages 4 years and up and all ability levels, with players grouped by age and ability level. Programs feature the Fast Start, games-based method for accelerated learning, development and fun, and BTP joins enrichment components with tennis learning and play opportunities. VolTBall is a hybrid version of tennis and badminton created by BTP's President, Lynn Morrell, who serves as President of BTP. The mission of BTP is to promote the lifetime sport of tennis, exercise and fitness to improve the quality of life for children and families in Greater Baltimore, to provide pathways to recreational and educational opportunities, and to promote life values of health, integrity, self-esteem and respect for diversity, with a specific mission for low-income and other underserved youth that focuses on using tennis to inspire and assist children to stay in school and improve their health and to support development of education and skills related to safe and healthy decision-making, elevated self-esteem and multicultural social competencies.
BTP has served more than 100,000 juniors, adults, seniors and disabled persons of all ages in more than 70 communities in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County, Anne Arundel County, Harford County and Frederick County. Over the years, partners and supporters have included Baltimore County Recreation and Parks, Howard County Recreation and Parks, Baltimore County Public Schools, Baltimore Sports Social Club, Child First Authority, Game On, Holabird Sports, USTA Mid Atlantic, UA House, Living Classrooms, Volo City Foundation, Ebert Foundation, Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, USTA Serves, Lois and Philip Macht Family Philanthropic Fund, T. Rowe Price Associates Foundation, Thomas Wilson Sanitarium for Children of Baltimore City, and Peggy Meyerhoff Pearlstone Foundation. Junior Indoor League supporters have included Community Title Network (Hal Resnick), Cory McCray, Due East Partners (Lauren Maddox), Elite Orthopedic & Musculoskeletal Center (Amir Moinfar), Guardian Mental and behavioral health services LLC (Chinyere Otuya), KG Forensic (Kris Giese), Kokee Tea (Youn Kim), Minuteman Press Towson (Nnamdi Ezimako), Offit & Roth, Orchard Racquet Club, PGTEF (Brenda Gilmore), Tak Tech (Denise Congdon), Toth Automotive (Gregory Toth, Grandparents), Valley Village Oral Surgery Associates (Bethany Awalt), and Vision Solutions (Mike Ferreira). Coaching equipment is provided for hired coaches.
