Founded in 1981 by George and Pauline Miller, Kiddie Academy opened its first Academy over 40 years ago. The company states that it nurtures, educates, and inspires children for the future and is driven to prepare children for life in Kiddie Academy locations across the country.
All Kiddie Academy educators must meet or exceed the state requirements for child care providers, including background clearance, education qualifications, and ongoing professional development. Kiddie Academy of Urbana offers a proprietary Life Essentials curriculum focused on six outcomes that prepare children for life. The program includes Weekly Spanish, Music, and Yoga sessions, as well as nutritious meals prepared fresh daily and described as homemade with love. Families have access to a Parent Communications Portal and webcams with live feeds in the child’s classroom all day.
Kiddie Academy of Urbana hosts a 6th Annual Children’s Art Show & Charity Auction, described as an afternoon dedicated to creativity, culture, community, and giving back. The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce has also named Laura the Young Professional of the Year.
