Since 1987, Children’s Center of Walkersville has served the needs of thousands of families in the Frederick County, Metro, and Tri-State areas. The program is a veteran and family-owned small business with a focus on community and a strong sense of family and community. Its goal is to offer a secure, loving, and educational space for children, provide peace of mind for parents, and foster a positive, professional environment for staff.

Children’s Center of Walkersville is licensed and accredited through the Maryland State Department of Education and is a Maryland EXCELS Level 5 site. The curriculum is described as challenging and developmentally appropriate and is taught by experienced, certified staff. Staff are selected for their caring personalities and love of children in addition to their credentialing and experience. The program has an open visitation policy in which parents are always welcome.

The leadership team includes Ms. Ginny, who was selected to receive the Governor’s Lifetime Achievement award for her dedication and service to children. The program works cooperatively with Frederick County Public Schools, Partnership for Emotionally Resilient Kids “PERKS,” Frederick County Infants and Toddlers, Child Find, the ARC, and more to support children of every ability throughout their education. Teaching children the importance of being active and responsible members of their communities is described as an invaluable part of the program and something that sets it apart from many providers. Community activities have included the Annual Food Walk, coat drives, supporting the local library, sending cards to local troops stationed overseas, and many more.
