The Young FilmMakers Camp, 1930 Brookdale Rd, Windsor Mill, MD 21244
About
The Young FilmMakers Camp gives kids the chance to make films and videos with iPhones and iPads. Participants write scripts, research subject matter, speak on camera, film one another, and film and edit videos on a variety of subject matters. They create videos for school, create videos for fun, and some create their very own YouTube channels.
• Ages: 8–17 years old
The Young FilmMakers Camp was created in 2014, when several children from area schools would get together on weekends to create films and videos about school subjects and Nerf Wars using iPhones and iPads. Since then, the camp has hosted hundreds of children who have become Young FilmMakers and created their own YouTube channels, and the camp has been held in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Washington DC, and Montgomery County. Children from all different backgrounds come together at this camp to create films and create long lasting friendships. Because of COVID precautions, the number of children in the camp this year is limited.
