Circle D Farm, 15535 Circle D Club Lane, Woodbine, MD 21797
About
Circle D Farm Summer Day Camp offers team sports such as softball, basketball, soccer, kickball, lacrosse, and floor hockey, along with swimming, miniature golf, and arts and crafts. Campers take part in horse and tack sessions that include horseback riding in the ring and grooming the horses, with every camper having the opportunity to ride and groom at no additional cost. Campers visit the pool twice daily for swimming in a 1,200 sq. ft. pool with an on-site bathhouse.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Summer 2026 session runs June 22nd–August 7th, with extended day options available from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
• Price: Regular Session Single Camper: $395.00 per week; Week of July 4th (no camp July 3rd): $315.00; Family Plan same-week rate: 1st child $395.00 per week, each additional child $340.00 per week (week of July 4th additional child: $270.00); extended day $5.00 per hour per child; one-time non-refundable $50.00 registration fee per camper in addition to weekly tuition
From Monday through Wednesday, campers follow a schedule and bring a labeled brown-bag lunch, swimsuit (which can be worn under clothes), towel, sunscreen, and a water bottle marked with their name, with large lunch boxes discouraged. On Thursdays, the camp provides a cookout lunch that includes hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and vegetarian burgers or other dietary menu items, and visitors are not allowed at the cookouts. Fridays are Contest Day, and families are notified about the weekly theme, such as Halloween Day, T-shirt Day, or a hat contest.
Campers are asked to wear washable play clothes marked with their names and sturdy shoes that tie, Velcro, or buckle, and not to wear heelies, flip flops, Crocs, or sandals. Towels, bathing suits, sunscreen, and water bottles are required each day, and lunches should be in a disposable bag labeled with the camper’s name, with milk at lunch provided daily at no extra cost. A lost and found basket is available, families are asked not to send irreplaceable clothing, and the camp prefers that children do not bring electronics, including cell phones; children in the extended day program can purchase snacks in the afternoon.
Circle D Farm Summer Day Camp operates on a working farm run by the Dowd family, who purchased the farm in 1953 and started the Summer Day Camp in 1979. The camp is looking forward to its 47th year and notes that over the past 65 years the farm has continued to evolve and improve its facilities, which also support corporate picnics, catered events, and a private tennis club with a full-service banquet room and lounge. All activities take place on the farm, and milk at lunch, the Thursday cookout, and all camp activities are included in the tuition.
Staff and counselors are trained in CPR, first aid, and use of AEDs, and background checks are completed on all staff by the Maryland State Police and the FBI. Two certified lifeguards are on duty at the pool at all times. Circle D Farm is regulated and licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and fully meets or exceeds all camp certification requirements.
The camp’s stated mission is to offer a “philosophy in action” that emphasizes values learned through team sports, fun, and shared experiences, along with the thrill of new knowledge, physical fitness, and new friendships, and to provide recreation, entertainment, and fun in a safe and secure environment in the countryside. Circle D also states that it provides its growing community with recreation, entertainment, and fun in a safe and secure environment.
One parent notes that their daughters “have been loving camp” and that this is their fourth year, saying they “talk about camp all year long” and “love it.” Other testimonials describe positive experiences with events held at Circle D, mentioning friendly and pleasant staff, good food, and successful celebrations.
