River Camps at Argo and Gallup Parks are State of Michigan-licensed camps and are led by experienced staff, and these River Camps combine expert instruction with outdoor fun, including daily explorations of different river sections at Argo and river exploration through paddling, fishing, and outdoor play at Gallup. For River Camps, families are asked to register their child for one week only because the river theme and activities repeat throughout the summer. Buhr Park Day Camp includes daily pool time, and campers there are grouped by age and paired with dedicated counselors who guide them throughout the session. Fuller Park Day Camp spends the entire day outdoors, includes three days of basic swim instruction for every camper, uses weekly themes to guide activities, crafts, and games, and groups campers by age who stay with the same counselors all week. The Parks and Recreation Services Unit Manager is Josh Landefeld, and the City of Ann Arbor’s mission is to deliver exceptional services that sustain and enhance a vibrant, safe and diverse community.
