About

The Henry Ford Summer Camp includes artifact explorations, hands-on experiments, behind-the-scenes adventures, and other hands-on activities and creative projects. Campers take part in visits to the Giant Screen Experience, enjoy rides at Greenfield Village, and have Frozen Custard. The week ends with a Closing Celebration that features music, activities, and a show-and-tell for families.

The Henry Ford Summer Camp offers programming for grades 2–7, with camp levels organized into themed groups: Superheroes (2nd), Movers (3rd), Explorers (4th), Growers (5th), Makers (6th), and Dreamers (7th). The camp is designed using The Henry Ford's Model i framework, and campers practice actions and habits of innovators by exploring new ideas, overcoming challenges, and working with others. Campers have THF site visits and signature experiences that include Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, as well as camp traditions such as the Giant Screen Experience, rides at Greenfield Village, Frozen Custard, and a Closing Celebration for families. Extended Care is available to support flexible drop-off and pickup times, and online registration includes member pre-sale and public sale dates, along with the use of FanShield ticket protection for refunds. At registration, families are asked to provide camper information including full name, current grade, entering grade, gender, birthdate, T-shirt size, address, and parent or legal guardian's email address.

All camp staff are CPR certified and CampSafe® Trained, and camp administrative staff are trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid. The Henry Ford's security team is always onsite and available and is trained in First Aid and CPR. The camp emphasizes accessibility and inclusion for campers with diverse needs. The mission of The Henry Ford Summer Camp states that it welcomes children, families, and staff of all cultures, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, family constructs, and abilities; does not tolerate aggression, violence, or bullying; and strives to create a fun and educational environment that is respectful, engaging, and safe for all children, aligned with learning powered by perspective, learning applied to the real world, and learning shared equitably by all.
