About
Riverbank Performing Arts Academy offers K-12 theater, dance, and music training, along with special adult programs. The program includes a Summer Musical Theatre Camp and an Upper-Level Camp, as well as classes, workshops, and camps that involve students in performing arts activities. Through the Academy, students may also be considered for MainStage Productions and can be better prepared for the Auditioned Youth4Youth Program, where Academy participation is a prerequisite.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer Musical Theatre Camp runs July 7–12; Upper-Level Camp runs July 14–19
In 2012, founder Kathy Vertin purchased a storefront in downtown Marine City as the first venue, and a second venue in the historic Marine City Bank building was added in 2014. Three years after the initial investment, the operation became self-sustaining and was converted to a 501(c)(3) organization governed by a board of directors, and that same year the Riverbank Performing Arts Academy launched. The goal of the Academy is to provide opportunities for kids in the community to find a passion for the arts through watching or participating in theatre. With a dedicated space, the Academy offers year-round educational programs taught by credentialed arts professionals, and ThumbCoast Theaters operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Through classes, workshops, and camps, students can be better prepared for opportunities both throughout life and in the world of the arts.
