Eagle Creek Summer STEAM Camp

Eagle Creek Summer STEAM Camp includes kid-cooking or baking, crafts, science experiments, STEAM challenges, recess, free art, water fun, and outdoor sports. All classes plan to be outside at least 2 hours per day, and activities use hands-on projects that integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Groups are kept small, with maximums of 14 children per group for 4th and 5th grades, 12 children per group for 2nd and 3rd grades, 12 children per group for 1st grade and kindergarten, and 10 children per group for 3- and 4-year-olds.

• Schedule: Camp runs most weeks Monday–Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, with most weeks 5 days long and two 4-day weeks (June 29–July 2 and August 31–Sept. 3); extended care is available between 8 am and 6 pm with several before- and after-care time options; children entering kindergarten through 5th grade in fall 2025 attend all five days, while 3- and 4-year-olds may choose M/W/F, T/Th, or all five days and must attend at least 3 weeks of the summer
• Price: Most 5-day weeks cost $430 per child per week; June 29 to July 2 costs $344 and they are closed July 3; August 31 to Sept. 3 costs $344 and they are closed Sept. 4; they do not reschedule or refund, and once paid, they do not offer changes or refunds for classes, before-care, or after-care

The camp takes place on the Eagle Creek Academy campus, which has big classrooms with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and independent AC units, a huge gym, and a kid-friendly commercial kitchen. The campus includes two large playgrounds, a huge sandbox, a gaga ball pit, a soccer field, a baseball field, two half-basketball courts, many classrooms with large outdoor decks, and a forest that children explore.

Families are asked to send lunch, snacks, drinks, and suntan lotion, and children are asked to wear outdoor clothing and sneakers rather than sandals or Crocs because they play sports, climb playground structures, and take walks in the woods. On water fun days, the program asks families to send a towel, a bathing suit, and flip flops or water shoes, and families are asked to apply bug spray before camp because staff do not apply bug spray.

Eagle Creek Summer STEAM Camp is led under the leadership of Principal Kelly Pyle. The program follows Eagle Creek’s mission that children are unique individuals who enjoy the challenges of a STEAM education, with small classes for customized lessons, many hands-on activities, and an emphasis on STEAM as an integration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math, with each class described as a small family where children and families develop strong friendships.

The program is part of a private STEAM school that has a Great Start to Quality – Level 5 rating, which is Michigan’s highest quality recognition, and the preschool program has received a Demonstrating Quality rating through the CLASS observation tool. Preschool and Young 5’s families often join the Eagle Creek community for events such as Trunk or Treat and Santa Breakfast.
