About

Summer Camp (Grades 5–12) is part of the principal camp program at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, which serves elementary, junior high, and high school students each summer with diverse programs in music, art, dance, and drama. • Ages: 10–18 years old

Founded in 1966, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp operates Summer Camp (Grades 5–12) within a larger organization that also runs the Summer Arts Festival, the Falcone Euphonium & Tuba Festival, the Alumni Festival Chorus, and a Public Radio station. The camp states that its mission is to maintain an atmosphere where students who want to learn may do so in an environment that encourages creativity and recognizes the importance of the individual, accepting students at whatever their proficiency level may be and encouraging them to grow, while faculty and staff strive to motivate campers and share with them the joy of achievement in the fine arts. Leadership for the camp and its programs includes roles such as Vice President, Operations / Interim President (Heidi Stansell), Vice President, Program & International Exchange (Don Flickinger), Vice President, Finance & Development (Andrew Lofgren), Director of Student Services (Joshua Farmer), Director of Health Services (Miriam Acosta), Director of Arts Programs (Richard Erne), and Executive Assistant, Summer Camp (Brianne Tyler), along with staff overseeing Summer Camp Admissions and Summer Camp Scholarships. Scholarships are available for Summer Camp (Grades 5–12), and a scholarship can help with camp tuition.

Parents and participants have shared testimonials describing Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp as having great music, teachers, and staff, and some note multiple years of attendance in programs such as the Advanced Chamber Orchestra and the International Exchange Program. One testimonial states that the camp has been a fantastic, formative experience for their children and mentions that two children have traveled to Europe with the International Exchange Program and made lasting memories and friendships. Another testimonial mentions that a parent attended for four years as a child and that their oldest child has now completed four years as a camper. Blue Lake’s representatives also visit schools in the community.
