Becker Youth Football offers both flag football and tackle football for kids. The program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the sport through these specific types of play.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
The Becker Youth Football Association (BYFA) states that it exists for the purpose of teaching each child the fundamentals of the sport and to provide the framework for wholesome participation at each child's playing ability. The program is for kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Coaches and parents in the program are expected to stress sportsmanship, team spirit, and developing skills more than winning, and to emphasize learning how to lose graciously. Coaches and parents are also expected to use appropriate language and not tolerate profanity.
BYFA participates in the newly formed North Star Youth Football League, which includes numerous organizations in the Northern Metro area. The leadership of the program includes Jeremy McGowan, who is listed as President of Becker Youth Football.
