The mission of AKA SPORT is to encourage kids of all abilities to live an active lifestyle by providing sports and fitness programs for youth, families, schools and communities. Programs are set up for kids and families to spend time playing a variety of sports, making friends, learning healthy lifestyle skills, and attending fun and educational events throughout the Twin Cities. The multi-sport approach offers new challenges each week in a stress free, positive environment for all children, regardless of ability, and is based on the belief that exposure to multiple sports and active events, including music and the arts, encourages kids to try new things, meet new people, learn bigger lessons, and find healthy activities they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
AKA SPORT engages communities through before and after school programs, summer camps, and community support initiatives such as Earth Day Park Cleanup, Community Appreciation Events, and the Annual Winter Coat Drive. AKA SPORT supports the community through donations, sponsorship, scholarships, or volunteering. AKA SPORT is a 501(c)3 Minnesota nonprofit organization.
