Cambridge Lutheran Church Kids & Summer Programs offers activities such as Music Adventure Camp, Vacation Bible School, KidZone, Outdoor KidZone, August KidZone Outdoors - Storytime Under The Tree, Frolic, LOGOS, and Music Adventure Camp singing in worship at the Horizon worship service. Kids take part in music, prayer, Bible stories, worship, Bible study, crafts, games, child playtime, snack, parachute fun, circle time, learning about Jesus, worshiping God, sharing a meal together, and learning 13 different American Sign Language signs to tell the story of Jesus. A staffed nursery is available for children age 3 and under during KidZone, and KidZone groups meet in the Sonshine room, KZ Studio, and Ignite room with a stated message of “Jesus loves you!” and check-in and check-out procedures that include KidZone volunteers in orange KZ shirts and a secure KidZone space while kids are downstairs.

• Schedule: Music Adventure Camp runs June 13–15 and 20–22 from 9:30 AM to Noon; Vacation Bible School runs August 7–10 from 9 AM to 11 AM and VBS 2025 runs Monday, June 16–Thursday, June 19 from 9 AM to Noon; KidZone meets during contemporary worship services at 9:15 and 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings; Frolic meets Thursdays from 9–10:30 AM following the Cambridge/Isanti school calendar; LOGOS for grades 4–6 meets Wednesdays after school from October through March following the Cambridge-Isanti school calendar; Sunday services are at 8:30 AM (Traditional) and 9:15 and 10:30 AM (Contemporary and KidZone).
• Price: Music Adventure Camp for grades 2–6 is free; Vacation Bible School August 7–10 for age 3–grade 5 costs $40 per child with an $80 family maximum; VBS 2025 for ages 4 years old through completed grade 5 is free.

Cambridge Lutheran Church Kids & Summer Programs is part of a congregation founded in 1864 as the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church, which celebrated 150 years as a congregation in 2014 and has been part of the ELCA since 1988. The church states its mission as “Connecting People to Christ, the Source of Life” and states that it believes “Jesus changes lives and transforms communities for the better,” and it describes itself as a welcoming church that says “CLC is here for you!” and aims to support families emotionally and spiritually. The church offers contemporary worship in the Commons described as “modern” and “high energy” and worship in the sanctuary described as “classic” and “familiar.”

Staff credentials include American Sign Language Teacher Amy Williams; Children, Youth & Family Director Kate Roettger, who has nearly two decades in ministry and is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary; retired teacher and Ignite Middle School Ministry Administrator Shirley Geib; organist Michelle Trunk, who has served as organist at churches in Princeton and North Branch and works in the North Branch school district; Aaron Knudsvig, who leads Play Inc., a local theater company for young people and teaches locally; Finance Manager Mary Chapman, who has many years of church administration experience; Associate Pastor Emily Martin, who joined the staff in 2017; and Senior Pastor Andy Romstad, who previously served churches in the Chicago and Milwaukee suburbs.

Community connections mentioned for these programs include VBS 2025 counselors from Green Lake Bible Camp and a Play Inc. Extended Day option for children enrolled in the Play Inc. Arts program, with transportation provided to Cambridge Middle School after lunch, as well as a Regular Extended Day from Noon–3:00 PM at the church for children who have completed grades 1–5 during VBS 2025. The church notes that part of its history has been starting many sister churches in the surrounding area.
