Camp Hiawatha offers a wide range of activities, including fishing, swimming, paddleboards, canoes, campfires, hiking, biking, and use of a basketball/pickleball court. In the winter, activities include sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling, nearby cross-country ski trails, downhill skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Itasca, and use of a traditional wood fired sauna. The program also provides access to boat docks and water toy rentals.

• Schedule: Camp Hiawatha operates year-round as a retreat and conference center, runs as a sleep away youth camp from June through August, and is available for weekend rentals in summer and for rentals all week during fall through spring.

Camp Hiawatha includes 10 cabins that each sleep 8 and have a private bathroom, as well as a Retreat Center with 5 rooms, 4 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a large living space, a wood fireplace, and a view of the lake. Meeting and gathering spaces include Baldwin Commons, the chapel, a rustic Log Lodge with a historic fireplace and screened wraparound windows, and the Retreat Center for small group meetings. The site offers ADA accessibility, a kitchen, laundry, microwave, refrigerator, WiFi, vacation rentals, and full meal service in a dining hall provided by a camp chef described as “our wonderful camp chef.” Camp Hiawatha hosts groups such as small family gatherings, business meetings and conferences, weddings, large family reunions, and sports teams, and it can be rented as an entire facility with accommodations for up to 150 people and guaranteed exclusive use. The mission statement for Camp Hiawatha is: “We focus on high quality hospitality to ensure that every guest has a memorable experience,” and it is described as a destination for fun in the northwoods.
