Delano Community Education Youth Enrichment and Recreation offers activities that include arts, chess, day camps, driver’s education, music and theater, robotics, and science and technology. The program also offers a wide range of sports and fitness options such as softball, track, football, skiing, yoga, basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, track and field, strength and conditioning, martial arts, golf, gymnastics, swimming lessons, adult swim lessons and coaching, water exercise classes, and lap swim.

Delano Community Education Youth Enrichment and Recreation includes childcare for children ages 3 through 6th grade during the school year and in the summer through Tiger Kids Club, as well as out-of-school time programs for grades K–6 through Tiger Kids Club. The Tiger Activity Center is described as Delano’s premier family recreation facility for all ages and includes an indoor track, weight and circuit training rooms, a pool, and multi-use courts, and it is available for birthday and private party rentals. The program’s popular gymnastics program includes both classes and a Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association (MAGA) competitive traveling team for more advanced students, and the Tiger Activity Center accepts several insurance fitness reimbursement programs. District 879 facilities, both indoor and outdoor, belong to school district residents, and Delano Community Education has been designated by the school board to manage the use of school facilities under board-approved policy and to schedule use of both district and City of Delano fields, including opening school facilities for community use.
The mission of Delano Community Education Youth Enrichment and Recreation is to focus on meeting the diverse needs of Delano residents and fostering meaningful connections, and it states that it strives to create high-quality programs that enhance the experiences of community members, no matter their ages or interests. The leadership team includes CE Director Abbey Lang, Community Education Director; Chris Runke, Recreation and Sports Coordinator; Rachel Wallace, Enrichment and School Age Care Coordinator; Kim Finn, TAC and Facilities Coordinator; Ben Nolan, TAC Fitness Supervisor; Becca Seiberlich, Preschool and Childcare Coordinator; and Emily Schmitt, Early Childhood Screening. Swan has been chosen as the Delano Teacher of the Year.
