Camp Chicagami is a long-running summer camp program that has served children for over 100 years of Summer Adventures, from 1922 through 2026. Its summer programs are intended to provide kids with a fun way to learn new skills, increase self-confidence, improve confidence in new social situations, and encourage healthy risk taking. The facility at Camp Chicagami was expanded and rebuilt in the 1990s.

Camp Chicagami’s mission is to make the joys and lessons of summer camp available and affordable for all children and to support and strengthen other youth development, education, and enrichment programming. Camp Chicagami has served the children of Eveleth since 1922 and has been developing educational and summer camp programs to serve children from across the Iron Range area. The camp emphasizes values that include positive attitude, teamwork, open communication, respect, reliability, and accountability.
Camp Chicagami’s staff is thoroughly screened and trained. Staff are well screened through an extensive interview process, including a background check, for their qualifications and ability to support campers' growth, and all staff participate in an intensive week-long training. The camp states that children’s safety and well-being are its highest priorities.
Parents have reported a range of changes in their children after attending Camp Chicagami, including trying different foods, making friends, and changes in attitude and personality. Parent comments describe campers as more willing to try different foods, more independent, more relaxed, happier, more outgoing, and more social. Some parents say their children experienced a confidence boost, had a great time, wanted to stay at camp, gained knowledge of new activities, wanted to try more new things, and helped more around the house.
