Camp Chicagami offers summer programs that focus on learning new skills, increasing self-confidence, improving confidence in new social situations, and encouraging healthy risk taking. The program encourages values such as a positive attitude, teamwork, open communication, respect, reliability, and accountability.

• Schedule: Open House on May 17, 2025, from 11am to 3pm
Camp Chicagami has served the children of Eveleth since 1922 and has been developing educational and summer camp programs to serve children from across the Iron Range area. The camp has over 100 years of summer adventures, from 1922 to 2025, and its facility was expanded and rebuilt in the 1990s. Camp Chicagami’s mission is to make the joys and lessons of summer camp available and affordable for all children and to support and strengthen other youth development, education, and enrichment programming.
Camp Chicagami’s staff is thoroughly screened and trained, with an extensive interview process that includes a background check, and all staff participate in an intensive week-long training. The staff is selected for their qualifications and their ability to support camper growth.
Parents have shared that their children made new friends, became more independent, and were happier and more outgoing after attending Camp Chicagami. Parent comments include reports of children being more willing to try different foods, gaining confidence, becoming less shy, wanting to try more new things, and even helping more around the house. Several parents noted that their children’s confidence “skyrocketed,” that they had “a great time and made new friends,” and that their children wanted to stay at the camp.
