About

Camp Cherith includes traditional camp activities such as waterfront activities, canoeing, crafts, outdoor cookouts, and hanging out with friends. Campers also take part in morning devotions, outdoor chapel services, and a horsemanship program that uses miles of wooded trails.

• Ages: 6–18 years old

Camp Cherith is a Christian camp with separate weeks for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18. The camp focuses on teaching campers how to make Christ real in every phase of their lives while they participate in traditional camp activities, learn new skills, build friendships, and enjoy nature. The leadership team includes Gerri Wilson (Registrar), Meghan Westra (Girls Director), Rob Scott (Boys Week 1 Director), Kendra Mohn (Executive Director), Audrey Kroohn (Mother Daughter Weekend Director), Scott Taylor (Boys Week 2 Director), and Katherine Teigen (Health and Safety Nurse), along with staff member Jamie Heisdorffer and camper, staff member, and Operations Committee member Aleah Nelson. Camp Cherith has a weekly capacity of 110 campers, which the camp describes as creating a family-like atmosphere.

Testimonials from the camp community include staff member Jamie Heisdorffer saying, “Watching the campers gain confidence and improve their skill levels each summer is so rewarding to me.” Campers Aubrey and Katrina Shikari say, “You see Him through your hands making the crafts, because God made you to make other things that are beautiful. You kind of see him every time we use our hands to make something.” Camper, staff member, and Operations Committee member Aleah Nelson says, “We pray before every meal and activity. We try to apply Christian principles to everything we do.”
