About

University of Minnesota Dance Team Clinics offer dance sessions where participants work on foundational technique and learn routines focused on musicality, connection, movement, and performance. Depending on the specific clinic, dancers may learn jazz, pom, and lyrical combos, take part in a two-day dance intensive, work on skills, and get a preview of the game day experience. Some clinics focus on technique drills for pirouettes and a la seconds, leaps and jumps, variations of turn speed, spots, and arm/leg placement, and unique connection and entry/exit of skills, and College Prep Clinic classes include Jazz, Lyrical, and Pom styles.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

College Prep Clinics include 4 hours of instruction and a Minnesota Dance Team t-shirt for all athletes, and the “Minnesota Made” Fall Training Clinic also includes 4 hours of instruction and a Minnesota Dance Team t-shirt for all athletes. For College Prep Clinics, poms are not required. Kid’s Clinics are described as being for dancers in Preschool–5th grade or Preschool–6th grade, depending on the specific event, with portions of these clinics broken out by age, and no dance experience is required for Kid’s Clinics. The “Minnesota Made” Fall Training Clinic features master teachers who are all alumni of the University of Minnesota Dance Team.
