About
Minnesota Elks Youth Camp is a co-ed camp for deserving youth that offers programs and activities planned to provide a fun-filled week and to enhance campers’ love of the outdoors. The camp setting includes about 270 acres of land with a north woods atmosphere that features evergreen trees, fresh air, sunshine, wildlife, and a large sandy beach. Campers receive a well balanced diet through a Summer Food Service Program under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and meals are served family style in an attractive air-conditioned dining hall.
• Ages: 9–13 years old
• Price: The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks pay all necessary camp fees for campers.
Qualified staff members supervise all activities, and the camp has its own Health House and first aid equipment, with hospital facilities and a camp-assigned physician twenty minutes away in Brainerd, Minnesota. The Minnesota Elks Youth Camp is owned and operated by the 25 Elks lodges located throughout Minnesota, and members of local Elks Lodges arrange transportation to and from the camp. Most campers are referred to local Elks Lodges through adults who know the child’s family, and persons knowing young people who otherwise would not have such an opportunity are urged to contact their nearest Minnesota Elks Lodge. The Minnesota Elks Youth Camp does not discriminate against any person because of race, color, sex, national origin, age or disability. The mission of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is to inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity, recognize a belief in God, promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members, quicken the spirit of American patriotism, cultivate good fellowship, perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and serve people and communities through benevolent programs. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have disbursed more than $2.69 billion in cash, goods, and services to the nation’s youth, its veterans, the disadvantaged and handicapped, and in support of patriotic and civic programs, including donating to the government the first veterans hospital, contributing regularly to schools and police and fire departments, and assisting the young and the needy throughout the nation.
