Armstrong Youth Basketball Association offers youth basketball through both Tournament (Travel) teams and Recreational (House) teams. The program includes basketball opportunities for boys and girls in grades 4–8 on Tournament Teams and for kids in PreK–8th Grade on Recreational Teams. Teams in both the Recreational and Tournament programs are open to students of the Robbinsdale School District, including kids who live in the district but attend school outside District 281 if they complete the required form.

Armstrong Youth Basketball programs are for students who attend school within the District 281 boundaries, with an option for district residents who attend school elsewhere to participate by filling out a form. The Tournament program was formerly known as Travel, and the Recreational League was formerly known as House. The organization states that playing basketball will teach life lessons such as sportsmanship, respect, hard work, and building long-term friendships, and it strives to create fun memories and a sense of family for all youth involved with either Tournament or Recreational League basketball.

The organization invites businesses to partner through sponsorship opportunities intended for a range of business sizes while increasing visibility in the community.
