Kinderstube German Immersion Preschool offers a daily mix of structured activities and free play, all conducted in German. The curriculum is entirely delivered in German through a total immersion approach, and children learn German naturally through interaction and play as teachers use visual aids, gestures, and context clues. The program combines elements of both the modern German Kindergarten and the American preschool, and children do not need any prior knowledge of German to attend.

Kinderstube German Immersion Preschool is a fully licensed preschool program by the State of Minnesota for children ages 33 months to 5 years old, and children must be 33 months old and potty trained by their first day of attendance. The program maintains small class sizes. Its pedagogy focuses on cognitive, physical, creative, and social-emotional skills, along with vocabulary, grammar, and cultural knowledge related to German-speaking countries. The program is parent-aware rated. The Germanic-American Institute, which operates the program, is a cultural, language, and educational center that provides language education, proficiency exams, cultural programs, and annual events, and is an affiliate of the Goethe-Institut and an accredited Goethe-Institut examination center. The GAI’s affiliation with the Goethe-Institut connects the program to a worldwide cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany that promotes the study of German and encourages international cultural exchange.
